Betelgeuse

I selected this star to research because I had known of it initially as famous, and found that it was popular for its location and the placement of it in the recognizable constellation Orion. I came to find that Betelgeuse is a star that astronomers are sure of exploding as a supernova someday. Because of its gigantic energy, it requires its fuel to expand quickly. When it runs out of this fuel, it will then collapse under its own weight and participate in an astounding supernova explosion.
